How long and how big is a GIF?

You choose 8, 12 or 16 frames at 70, 120 or 200 milliseconds per frame, so one loop lasts from about half a second to just over three seconds. GIF frames are 720 x 720 (square), 576 x 864 (portrait) or 864 x 576 (landscape); still pictures are 1024 pixels on the short side.

Yes. Every GIF plays on repeat. With "seamless loop" on, the prompt asks the model to end on the pose it started from, so the jump back to frame one is hard to see. It works best for cycles such as spinning, bouncing, blinking or walking in place.

Can I turn a photo into a GIF?

No. ImagenGIF makes GIFs from text prompts. GPT-Image-2.6 does not take an input photo for GIFs through OpenAI's API, so photo-to-GIF is not offered here.

Can I put text on a GIF?

Yes. Put the words in quotes in your prompt, or use the text to GIF maker for animated lettering. Short words come out readable most of the time; check the spelling before you post.

Can I use the GIFs commercially?

You may use GIFs you generate, including for business, as long as the prompt followed our terms and OpenAI's usage policies. Do not make GIFs of real people, logos or characters you do not have the rights to.

What happens to my prompts and GIFs?

Your prompt is checked by our moderation provider and then sent to OpenAI to make the GIF. Finished GIFs are stored privately in your account for download; anyone you share the direct link with can open it. Email support@imagengifai.com to delete them.

How to write a prompt that loops

Name one subject and one action, then say where it ends: "a paper plane loops around the screen and lands back where it started". A loop needs the last frame to match the first, so describe a cycle (spinning, bouncing, blinking, waving) rather than a story with a beginning and an end.

Add a style and a camera: "pixel art, side view" or "glossy 3D, close-up". Put any words you want drawn in quotes and keep them short. Leave "seamless loop" on; it tells the model to bring the scene back to its starting pose.

AI GIFs vs Giphy and video-to-GIF
